Before your Korea trip

Your app translated the sentence. Did you understand the answer?

Practice checking one concrete detail, instead of ending the conversation at the translated screen.

Give the question a clear reference

Start with the object or detail you both need to identify. Point to the notebook, or show a non-sensitive picture of the item. Then compose one complete question: "Do you have this notebook in a smaller size?" Avoid adding a price question, a second product and tomorrow's plans to the same message.

Google's written-text translation instructions recommend complete sentences for context. The exercise below works without choosing a particular app; it does not test or endorse translation accuracy.

Separate the output from the answer

Use these three checks as a small private practice card:

Do not mark the last line complete merely because the app produced text. In this example, you want to identify the smaller notebook that the assistant means. If their answer refers to a different product, return to the reference before adding another question.

Try a five-minute rehearsal

  1. Minute 1: set up two choices. Put two objects or drawings on a table. Choose a difference such as size or color. Use invented details, not a real order or private document.
  2. Minute 2: ask one question. In a language you and your partner share, write a complete question about one object. Point to it as you show the question.
  3. Minute 3: leave one detail unclear. Your partner answers without naming the size or color. Your task is to notice what is missing, not guess the intended choice.
  4. Minute 4: check the choice. Ask your partner to show which object they mean. Say back your understanding and give them a chance to correct it.
  5. Minute 5: switch roles. Repeat with the other object. Write down the one part of the exchange you want to learn in Korean.

Bring the gap to your Korean practice

You might need help asking about size, recognizing a short answer, or saying that you did not understand. Take that one task to a teacher rather than memorizing every word an app gives you. For a beginner starting point, open the free speaking sample; for a second rehearsal, try the question after your cafe order.

Keep confidential documents and other people's personal information out of practice inputs. This low-stakes exercise is not a method for confirming medical, legal, safety or contractual instructions; those need appropriate professional support.

Prepare for the answer, too

Tell Ashley one everyday situation where you can ask a question but struggle with the reply. Share your Korean level, not private screenshots. Scope, availability and fee are discussed separately.
