Public Practice Sheet

Korean Pronunciation Practice

A simple pronunciation sheet for learners who want clearer Korean sounds before or between lessons.

First Rule

Pronunciation is physical.

Good Korean pronunciation is not only knowing letters. It is training your mouth, timing, and listening habits.

Teacher note: Do not aim for speed first. Slow, clear, repeatable Korean is better than fast unclear Korean.
Sound Contrast

Notice these pairs.

가 / 카 / 까
soft / aspirated / tense

Listen for air and tension, not only English spelling.

다 / 타 / 따
soft / aspirated / tense

Do not pronounce every ㄷ like English “d.”

바 / 파 / 빠
soft / aspirated / tense

Control lip pressure and air release.

자 / 차 / 짜
soft / aspirated / tense

Small differences can change how natural you sound.

Reading Drills

Read in rows.

가 거 고 구 그 기
Keep the consonant, change the vowel.
나 다 라 마 바 사 아 자 하
Read slowly with even rhythm.
한국어 / 사람 / 학교 / 시간 / 친구
Practice real words after blocks.
안녕하세요. 저는 한국어를 배워요.
Move from words into a short sentence.
Common Beginner Issue

Romanization can mislead you.

Romanization helps at the very beginning, but English spelling habits can create wrong Korean sounds. The faster you connect sound to Hangul directly, the better.

Teacher note: Ashley can listen for the exact sound problem: vowel shape, consonant tension, final consonants, rhythm, or sentence flow.
Practice Routine

Five-minute pronunciation routine

1. Warm up vowels

아 어 오 우 으 이

2. Read blocks

가 나 다 라 마 바 사 아 자 하

3. Read real words

한국어, 사람, 학교, 친구

4. Record once

Listen for one thing to improve. Do not try to fix everything at once.
